"So tell me Ms. Gamble? Does this photo here ring a bell?" I watched as his lawyer dropped a photo of us together. "What's wrong? Does it bring back a certain memory?" "I don't know what you're talking about." "Oh but I believe you do. Which is why you're responsible for his death." "I DID NOT KILL HIM!" I slamed my fist on the stand making him jump back a little. "So tell me Taylor? You seem kind of angry about it. I only asked you a question." "Your honor he's badgering my client." My lawyer called out. "That's enough Mr. White. Ms. Gamble you may have a seat now."
The sheriff grabbed my arm and escorted me back to my lawyer. Everyone stared at me and whispering to one another. I would be too if I saw someone walking around in an orange jumpsuit, in cuffs, like myself. None of his shit was suppose to happen. I made a big mistake. I didn't kill no one. But I know I was responsible for it. I just had to be. If not, I wouldn't be where I am now right? But still, I wonder where he is. I hope he's okay. He was gone before the murder happened. I remember him saying to me that 'I'll always love you'. It's crazy that he found out about us. It's all my fault. I wish I never met him. I wish I could've stayed with him instead . . .

Day One.
"Okay Taylor. What I need you to do is tell me the whole story from the beginning. The very beginning. Do you think you could do that for me?" I looked into the judges eyes and I knew that he was extremely curious about the whole murder. "Yes." "Good. Now go on." I looked around the court room. Everyone was staring me down, hard. I looked out the corner of my eyes to see the jury whispering to one another. It made me so nervous. I took a deep breath. "It started 9 months ago. I was single then. I was in Wal-mart looking for some bed sets. And that's when I saw him:
"Need any help miss?" "Huh? Oh sure. I'm looking for this set for a King sized bed." "Hold one sec. Let me go check in the back." Hmm. He seemed kinda cute. He was back there for like a good minute. He finally came back out. He had a smirk on him and his eyebrow was raised up. "Here you go." "Thanks so much um . . ." "It's Carnell." "Okay. Well I'll be in here more often. I love shopping here so, look for me okay?" "Aight I will. So what's ya name?" "It's Taylor." "You think I could get your number?" If you were standing here with me right now and seen the look on his face, you could tell that he was serious. I know I'm pointing out the obvious but, you know I am. I giggled. "Hmm, we'll see. I'll see you soon." "Haha aight then." I watched as he walked away. That was one fine gentlemen right there. I went shopping a little more and then left.
"Okay hold up. You just met him and you were already flirting with him in the store?" "I never said I was flirting." "But I clearly remember you stating about you giving him you're number." "Are you trying to intimidate me sir? And if you were listening carefully like a lawyer was supposed to do, I told him maybe." "But you did didn't you?" It grew quiet. I noticed his mother was sitting way in the back. She turned her head right away. She couldn't even look at me. I then turned my attention back to the lawyer. I didn't say anything. I couldn't really. "That's what I thought. You're honor?" The judge turned and looked at the clock on the wall behind him. "We'll have to continue this case tomorrow. Sherrif? Take her back to her cell." "Yes your honor."

It felt cold. Too cold. An officer was sitting at his desk two feet away from watching a lakers game on TV. The cell I was in, had a monstrous odor to it. There were little specks of dried up blood from previos people that were in here. I guess some tried to hurt themselves or they were just beaten buy officers for being stupid. My hairs was a complete mess. And my fingernails were so short from biting them. I had scars on my face from the night of the murder. I was in a perilous position that night:
"So what you gonna do nigga? You gonna shoot me? In front of her? Smh, some boyfriend you are. No wonder she was messing with me." "Nigga f*ck you." "Baby please! Stop!" I grabbed and pulled at his shoulder. He turned around and all I felt was the backside of his hand go across my face. "You stay out of this Tay! You're the reason all this s*it happened!" "Nigga don't put your hands on her like that!" "What you gonna do?" Next thing you know he charged at him. I had tears streaming down my face as I seen the fighting. Punches were comging in fast. Next thing you know, I heard his gun go off. Everything went quiet. We looked around at one another. I watched as he moved his hand away from his chest. The bullet had pierced his heart. Next thing you know, his body laid there, lifeless. "You killed him." "Baby I'm-" "You killed him." The two of us were in so much shock. None us said anything.
All of this needs to end. And it needs to end fast.
