The Hallway ®
First day of school, and my ass was walking. I knew I would be late, considering I lived four and a half blocks away from Rigemont High. Mom was knocked the hell out, probably drugged off benadryl. My eyes stung from the cold rushing past me like it actually needed to get somewhere. Me, of course being who I was, didn't wear any form of protection. I mean, I lived off the weather channel and their dumbasses said it would be above 60. Thanks for nothing, guys.
It took me about 30 minutes to hit the hallways and I checked my schedule for my locker. I read it in my mind. 360. 360. 360.
"Hey!" I said, shouting at some random broad picking stuff from her locker.
"Where's locker 360?" Her eyes gave me that who the hell you yelling at look and she shouted back,
"The name is Karen, and you're locker ... unfortunately nigga, is next to mine."
I strolled my way over, knowing when she saw me up close she'd melt like it was heatstroke season. Yeah, I'd say I was a ladies man. Scratch that. The ladies man.
"Thanks, ma."
She put her bookbag in the locker and shut it. Man, shawty had an ass on her.
"Like I said, it's Karen. And no problem .... ?"
"The names Kelly."
"Isn't that a girls name?"
She laughed under her breath. Me, I was not amused.
"Hush your mouth girl. Kelly is a pimps name."
She rolled her eyes and started to walk away.
"Ha, a pimps name." I heard her say.
Yes, a pimps name. Certified slapahoe pimps name.

Yeah, so homeroom was lame. I stared out of the window most of the time, checking people out as they walked by. My junior year was the best, but now, considering I was a senior... mom expected me to bust my ass and do my best on everything. But I had other things in mind. Senior year was my time to be wild and out of control.
"Hey.. pst."
I looked over my shoulder and a girl with bright green eyes gave me a note. I was hesitant to open it, but I took it from her hands and sat it on my desk.
Your name? It read. Hm, this wasn't new. Probably wants a peice of this Kelly action.
Kelly.
Cute, I'm Brianna. I'm not from around here. Think you could show me around?
This girl was smooth. Maybe not so much a looker, but she was smooth.

I turned around and she smiled. In my mind I was thinking hell to the no, but I guess I'd give it to her in case I needed a little ass one day. So, I gave her my number and she plugged into her sidekick just as the bell was starting to ring. She put her phone in her pocket and said,
"Thanks, baby boy."
"Hey.. pst."
I looked over my shoulder and a girl with bright green eyes gave me a note. I was hesitant to open it, but I took it from her hands and sat it on my desk.

Yeah, so it was a Saturday and and me and my boys Marcel and PJay were hangin' out at Hamp Town mall. The honey's were flockin like it was hunting season and our status was marked with a big fat SINGLE. PJay tapped me on my shoulder and pointed at a group of girls all wearing the same colors.
"Damn, check shorty with the curly hair. Can I get an amen?"
I checked over my shoulder and my eyes bulged at the sight of Karen.
"Aw shit, it's that rude ass girl who shares a locker by me."
"RUDE? Man, she is fine."
Okay, so I was a little zealous that PJay was checking her out, but I didn't let it get to me much.
"Go over there." Marcel said sipping on his cherry limeaid. "Spit some game."
So PJay got his big headed ass up and somewhat strutted over to the crowd. He looked like a damn fool.
KAREN
Me and my ladies Jaylyn, Katrina, and Mylie were all standing out by the Chik`FilA just talking and what not about what had been going down at school. Just then, some Ray J reject brought his crusty ass over. I rolled my eyes and whispered,
"Ah damn. Check dude coming over here."
Jaylyn almost spit out the food she was eating.
"Why the hell he walkin' like that? Lookin' like he got shot in both his knees."
We all laughed in unison.
"Sup, ma?" he said licking those big lips of his.
Not a damn thing.
"Uh, sup?" I said, one-word answering him.
"Ya'll ladies havin' a swell time?"
Mylie smiled and put out her hand.
"I am, now that you're here."
Oh, hell no. Mylie, what the hell?
Big head smiled and shook her hand.
"Are ya'll?" Jaylyn said pointing at a table with two boys sitting at it.
"Yeah, we're having a heap of fun."
A heap? Who the fuck uses the word heap anymore?
I squinted my eyes. Was that... Kelly?
"I'll be back." I said before walking over and standing above Kelly as him and his friend chatted.
"What's up pimp?"
He looked up at me and half smiled.
"Hey Karen."

My eyes skimmed across Karen's outfit. From where I was sitting, shawty was lookin' right.
"What ya'll doin here?" she asked taking a seat with me and Marcel.
"Shit, chillin. Ya'll? I looked behind me and PJay was hittin it up with one of Karen's girls.
"Same here. Ya boys really feeling Mylie huh?"
Yeah, dude was trying real hard. Her other friend just sat there and rolled her eyes.
"Jay!" Karen yelled and signaled for her to come to the table. Just then her fine ass friend Jaylyn came over and took a seat as well.
"Thank God!" she said. "I had to get away from them two."
We sat there at that table for a good minute, not talking about anything inparticular. I'd say it was about 9:30 and the mall was closing down.
"We need to hang again sometime, partner." Karen said patting me on the shoulder. Of course I wanted to say yes, but I wasn't going to give in just yet.
"Nah, I don't think so."
Her eyes got wide.
"What?"
"C'mon guys." I said, and Marcel and PJay followed me out the mall exit.
When we got outside Marcel jumped in front of me like he was a damn security guard.
"Dude!? What's up with that?"
I rolled my eyes and laughed. Was he really not catching on?
"I'll give her some time."
And I left it at that.

I watched as Kelly and his boys left. What in the hell? Did he really just ... diss me? Yeah, I think he did.
"So, you and Kelly gonna hang?" Mylie said grinning from ear to ear.
"Hell no!"
Yeah, so I was angry.
"What, why?" she said oblivious of what was going on, considering she was up big head's ass all night.
"He said he didn't want to hang with Karen!" Jaylyn said raising her voice.
"Is that true?"
I looked to the ground, controlling myself from walking outside and snatching him up by his braids.
"Mhm."
