.two:: the courage.

“Where were you Friday night?” “Busy.” “Getting busy.” Freedom and Bryan just smirked at each other. “Free, you always assume the worst of me,” her other best friend, Christopher Maurice Brown, stated. “Tell me I’m wrong,” commanded Freedom. There was complete silence between them as they walked down the hallway. “Thank you,” she said rolling her eyes, “I know you better than you know yourself Chris.” “I’ve noticed. And yet you still love me.” Freedom simply shrugged. Chris wrapped his arm around her waist, pulled her closer to him and gave her a wet kiss on the cheek. “Eww Chris! Who knows where your mouth has been?!” Bryan just laughed while Freedom wiped her left cheek aggressively and Chris smirked.
People just stared at Freedom, Bryan and Chris aka Triple Threat as they walked down the hallway. Each one of them had their specialty: Freedom was practically a genius, Bryan was a star athlete, and Chris sang as if his life depended on it. Everything made sense apart from Freedom. They never took the time to make it make sense. But none of it mattered to them; Freedom was their number one girl.
“Free, you okay?” asked a concerned Reauna. She was coming out of Sociology.
Reauna was always there for Freedom when she couldn’t talk to the guys.
“The slut over here just kissed me.” Reauna smiled & gave hugs to guys. “Bryan, yall were amazing Friday,” complemented Reauna. He smiled before saying, “Thanks.” “Yeah, I heard I missed a good game,” added Chris, “I’ll be at the next one.” “You’ll be playing Myles the next game,” Reauna mentioned. Myles and Reauna had together for nearly seven months. Bryan’s eyebrows rose, “Word?” Reauna just smiled. “I’ma definitely going to this one,” stated Chris, “You going Free?” Before she even opened her mouth Bryan answered for her. “She’s always there.” That’s right, she thought, I’m always there.
“We’ll catch yall later,” Reauna said to Bryan and Chris, “we’re ‘bout to be late to Parenting.” Good-byes were said and Reauna and Freedom went down the stairwell. “Anything happen Friday night?” asked Reauna. “Does anything happen Friday night?” a frustrated Freedom asked back. Reauna sighed, “Nothing ever will if you don’t make the first move.” “You know that’s not me Ree Ree. I’d die of a broken heart if he’d reject me.” “He wouldn’t! He’d have the best of both worlds, the best friend & the girlfriend.” “Reauna, I’m not Hannah Montana. And things probably won’t work out as good for me as the do for her. And what if we broke up? Triple Threat would be ruined. Reauna, there’s just too much to lose.” “Fine. But who knows what you two could have.”
That last sentenced echoed through Freedom’s head. She’d kick herself if they actually did work out and she’d never went for it. “I’ll ask him out,” Freedom stated after giving it much thought. Reauna stopped walking and looked at her skeptically. “Only once I get the courage.”
